2016 WORLD SLEDGE HOCKEY CHALLENGE COMING TO NOVA SCOTIA

Bridgewater to host annual, elite-level international sledge hockey

CALGARY, Alta. – Bridgewater, N.S., has been selected to host some of the world’s best high-performance sledge hockey players for the 2016 World Sledge Hockey Challenge. The annual event, which has become a staple of the international sledge hockey calendar, runs Jan. 17-23 at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

The tournament kicks off with its first games on Jan. 17, 2016, while the gold-medal and bronze-medal games are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23

Events Lunenburg Countylands 2017 55+ Games in Lunenburg County.

Events Lunenburg County announced that the 2017 55+ Games will be
hosted in Lunenburg County September 14 to 16, 2017. 800 athletes will take part in games atvenues across Lunenburg County. The athletes and their supporters will have an economic impact to all Lunenburg businesses over the 3 days.

The Canada 55+ Games is a nation-wide program to sponsor wellness -
spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing among Canadians 55 years of age and
older. Provincial programs are staged annually in different provinces and territories. The first national Games were held in Regina in 1998.

The team at Events Lunenburg County is currently pursuing bids in a variety of areas including Nova Scotia Music Week 2017
