Events Lunenburg County was host to the 2016 World Sledge Hockey Challenge and NS 55+ Games. In 2017 we hosted Ribfest and we’re still on a high from 2018 Esso Cup.

Why should you join Events Lunenburg County volunteer board?

Events Lunenburg County volunteer board meet once each month for approximately one hour and hold an Annual General Meeting each year.

This is why our board’s volunteerism is important….

• $1 million economic development contributed from World Sledge Hockey Challenge

 • $2 billion dollars was contributed to the Nova Scotia economy by Tourism in 20101

• $366 million spent in restaurants

• $354 million spent on transportation

The visitor economy supported 24,000 jobs and $53 million in household income and tax revenues of $78 million provincially and $78 million federally in 2010. Municipal tax impacts attributable to Tourism were estimated at $24 million or 2.45 of all municipal taxes.

Events Lunenburg County was formed with the goal of bringing Conferences, Special Events, Sporting Competitions, Concerts and Trade Shows to Lunenburg County to support and sustain economic growth.

The Events Lunenburg County Board is made up of business representatives, Economic Development staff, Boards of Trade/Chambers of Commerce, elected municipal officials and interested individuals from all municipalities.
